Museum of Transport
Kirkwood, Missouri
![]() |
| On display at the Museum of Transport is this school bus modified for use on RR tracks. |
The Museum of Transport began in the 1940s with the acquisition of a mule-drawn streetcar, and for years it remained dedicated to railway exhibits. Eventually, they branched out into the automotive area and have since collected several unusual specimens.
Of particular note to Route 66 travelers is the fact that the museum has on display part of one of the rooms from the Coral Court Motel, a world-famous Route 66 stopover which stood near here until it was torn down in favor of a housing subdivision.
